Coconut Scrubbing Sponges

One thing I noticed fairly quickly with these is that they seem to stay fresher longer than many traditional kitchen sponges. Sponges are one of those things that can start smelling unpleasant well before they wear out, but these have done a good job resisting odors so far. The coconut scrubbing side has enough texture to help with stuck-on food and kitchen messes without scratching surfaces, while the sponge side works well for everyday dishwashing and wiping down counters. I also like that they dry out reasonably quickly between uses, which probably helps with the odor resistance. The scrubbing side is not as aggressive as some heavy-duty scrubbers, but for everyday dishes, sinks, stovetops, and counters, I have found the balance between cleaning power and gentleness to work well.

We typically buy the blue sponges that are widely available in most stores. But decided to give these a try. I was impressed right away. The sponge feels better than the blue ones. And the scrubby part works fantastic! They’re the same size as a standard dish sponge and seem equally as durable. Given they are made from natural materials they are eco-friendly too. Definitely worth a try

Having been recently disappointed to learn how many microplastics traditional sponges shed, I wanted to find an alternative I could feel better about. These found their way into my Amazon feed and I thought they looked great to try. I've tried a few other "reusable" sponges and been disappointed with their ability to scrub. I love these because both the "soft" side and the "scrub" side work just as well as the 3M Scotch ones that we used to buy. We've been using the same one for the last maybe 4 weeks (I know I know, i should switch it out soon, but wanted to see how it held up) and it's doing great in terms of durability. I thought maybe because it was plant-based it might fall apart quickly, but that hasn't been the case. We also haven't had any issues with odor. I like that they come in a recyclable box as an added bonus. The only thing that was curious to me was that on the box it has the chasing arrows symbol for "recyclable," but then it says the box is compostable, but those are different things. That may just be something they need to check on.

I am a little confused by this sponge. I like the idea of a plant based sponge that is better for the environment. This one almost delivers. It’s the same size as regular sponge and it does the same job. It’s made of cellulose and coconut fiber, but it also has polyester. The coconut scrubber side is 50% coconut fiber and 50% polyester. I don’t understand what the polyester is doing in this sponge. The sponge is still better than some other sponges that are all plastic, but there are definitely more eco-friendly sponges out there that are not made of polyester. I was pretty happy about this sponge until I realized what it was made out of. For all of those reasons, I’m giving this sponge set three out of five stars.

I'm using on marble counters and it's fine for that. Not a rough scrub, but just fine for dishes. Pros: good absorbency, inexpensive per sponge, reusable, dishwasher-safe, and better than very cheap foam sponges for general cleaning. Cons: not fully natural, not fully plastic-free, sheds coconut fibres, wears faster than premium cellulose/sisal or walnut scrubber sponges, false branding.

I am reviewing the Fab Tab Coconut and Cellulose Sponges, 12 count. These sponges are comprised of 100% cellulose-50% coconut fibre, 50% polyester (part sponge, part scrubber) The product is made to be used as a scrubber. Surface recommendation is ceramic. These sponges have natural ingredients and are not tested on animals. The dimensions are 4.5"L x 2.7"W x 0.8"Thick. It's a standard smaller sponge/scrubber size. What I like about these sponges: I like the all-natural products for my home if I can find those that actually work. I am using these in my kitchen to clean hand wash dishes/pots/pans, for cleaning up spills on my stove top and for my counter tops. They appear that they will last a long time. They are very well made and sturdy and should hold up after repeated use. They say that they are odor-free and hygienic since they have a quick-drying design. I have not noticed any odor from the sponge I am using, but when I use a sponge for a few days I will pop them in the dishwasher to clean them. The sponges are doing a good job cleaning food from my pans, so I feel that they are doing what they say they should be able to do. Although they are said to be safe for all surfaces, I personally would use caution with the coconut side with surfaces such as a stainless appliance. Overall, these sponges are very nice, they do what they say they should do, they are holding up well, appear to be well constructed and I recommend these to anyone wanting a natural type of sponge/scrubber for dish cleaning and most sponge/scrubber type of applications in a home.

I'm so glad I decided to give these a try and looked forward to writing this review! These sponges clean my dishes and cookware extremely well — seriously impressed with how effective they are. They're stiff enough to give a really good scrub without scratching anything, which is a tough balance to find in a sponge. What really won me over is the longevity. Overall, I would say that these are average quality sponges for the relatively expensive price ($14.99 at time of review), which is why I am giving them an average 4-star rating. They do look as pictured and come as pictured, with the softer white side of the sponge and the course brown side of the sponge. They work as intended like any basic sponge, and you can get several uses out of them.

Not gonna lie, I was pleasantly surprised at how strong and sturdy these sponges are! The coconut fiber in them really provides a nice scrubbing surface too!

Reviews Fab Tab’s plant based sponges are a great deal for $15 per 12 pack. I’ve been looking for small ways to reduce microplastics and these sponges work great with zero tradeoffs. Previously, I used the blue scrubber sponges, but they’re made of plastic. These are made from coconuts. The scrubby side gets pans clean with no scratching and the sponge side is great for wiping counters. They last as long as the blue sponges as well and don’t get a nasty, musty smell over time. The 12 pack is a good value. I have totally switched over to these plant-based sponges and have no desire to go back!

These are fabulous kitchen sponges. I wasn't sure what to expect when I requested to review this product since I'm used to using the green/yellow sponges or sponge daddy. But if you are not aware, microplastics are being found everywhere, including the human body, so anything more natural is preferable for me. But how will they clean? I'm happy to report these coconut sponges scrub just as well as the others I mentioned. Admittedly there is a slight smell to these sponges that's unusual, but the smell goes away. Honestly, after a few days of use, I picked up one of these coconut sponges for the smell test (to see if smells musty/gross). No smell! While these sponges may be a little more than the cheapo ones, it's not by much and something plant-based (at this price) is very, very reasonable. I have a new love and it's these Fab Tab sponges! They work great on pots and pans, countertops, sinks, etc. and don't scratch anything. These sponges may look strange yet get the job done. Two thumbs way up.

These sponges are pretty good. They behave almost like a regular sponge and yet they are made from eco-friendly material and I am all for it. Not sure how long they would last but at least after a week of use they are still in great shape. The only minus for me is that they are a bit harder and also not as absorbent as the regular sponges.

these sponges are way more durable and useful than the regular ones i'd usually pick up at the grocery store. the coconut fiber side is great for scrubbing off stuck on food without scratching up my pans, and the cellulose side is nice and soft for regular wiping. they don't seem to get that gross sponge smell as quickly either. i'll definitely be buying these again once i get through the 12 pack, they're just a much better quality overall.
